TAKE ACTION

Register to vote and stay informed! Rock The Vote is a great resource that helps you register, sign up for election reminders, and learn more about voting best practices in your area. If you’re already registered, send this to three friends and ask: Are you registered to vote in November? It only takes two minutes and you can do it here

You can also use Rock The Vote’s COVID-19 Voting Information to learn about your state’s rules and deadlines for mail-in voting, and request an absentee ballot. Visit this page to send a message to Congress and urge them to pass legislation that would require all states to provide vote at-home and early vote options during a public health emergency.

Learn more about your elected officials. In order to effectively birddog, you must know where your elected officials stand on the issues you care about. You can use the comprehensive ACLU Legislative Scorecard to look up the positions of your representatives.

STAY SAFE.

We are in very challenging times, and activism can bring you face-to-face with others. It is important to remember that COVID-19 disproportionately affects Black and Brown communities. True allyship in activism means you must wear your mask, socially distance when necessary, and keep CDC guidelines in mind.
